Australia has its own tale of skateboard history, as with us here in the states surfing was the at the root of that. In the late 60's early 70's the counter culture movement was not only restricted to the States. Australian beach goers began using drugs, having fun and surfing for recreation and that pissed some people off, specifically the Surf Life Saving Association of Australia (uptight life guards equipped with only a surf board) . The major players in surfing went to Hawaii and the California coast through that gave Australian surfing global recognition. The Penny Board was a direct product of this "counter culture" and began to sell their Plastic infused Skateboards in the mid 70's. The back pack size design was perfect for cruising through town and making it possible to take your board anywhere, the sharp turns, car ran over durability, small surface area and multiple colorways made this a no brainer in the 70's. Well, PENNY SKATEBOARDS are back!! and seem to fit right back in to the culture of today, whether you need it to trek around campus, cruise around town or just stunt, We got your back! available in several colorways at your local Store13!
